What tree did Buddha pray under?

The tree that Buddha prayed under is known as the bodhi tree. After considering and rejecting a mango tree, Buddha selected a fig tree, scientifically known as Ficus religiosa, to meditate under. This particular species of fig tree became famous as the bodhi tree because it was beneath one of these trees that Buddha achieved enlightenment, also known as bodhi, after meditating for a period of 49 days.
