Why should we not go near Peepal tree?

There are several reasons why it is suggested to avoid going near a Peepal tree.

1. Release of Carbon Dioxide: Peepal trees, like many other plants, release carbon dioxide (CO2) at night. During the day, plants perform photosynthesis and release oxygen. However, at night, the process reverses, and they absorb oxygen while releasing carbon dioxide. If we inhale a significant amount of carbon dioxide, it can be harmful to our bodies. It is advisable not to sleep under any tree at night because of this release of carbon dioxide.

2. Large Size and Heavy Foliage: Peepal trees are known for their massive size and dense foliage. Due to their large size, Peepal trees release a greater amount of carbon dioxide compared to smaller plants. The large surface area of the leaves allows for more respiration to occur, leading to a higher carbon dioxide release.

3. Oxygen Deprivation: When we sleep, our bodies require a good supply of oxygen to function properly. Inhaling high levels of carbon dioxide can lead to a decrease in the available oxygen, which may result in oxygen deprivation. This can lead to drowsiness, headaches, and other respiratory and health issues.

While it is important to note that the carbon dioxide released by plants is usually not harmful in small amounts, it is better to avoid sleeping or spending prolonged periods under any tree, especially a Peepal tree, to prevent any potential health risks associated with inhaling excessive carbon dioxide and inhaling reduced levels of oxygen.

It is always recommended to ensure proper ventilation and sleep in a well-ventilated room with fresh air for a good night’s sleep.
